Alert Phase One: Lyon wants to strengthen and sell stars

Twelve games played, one victory, seven points, and an eighteenth place: it's a crisis at Olympique Lyon. The pressure has increased even more after last weekend's defeat to Lille. The club management wants to make significant changes and is even considering selling heavyweights Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso.

According to L'Equipe and Le Progres, it's alert phase one at Lyon. The club wants to strengthen itself to avoid relegation, but would also be willing to sell Lacazette and Tolisso.

This is notable as they are two experienced players and were brought in for that reason. Nevertheless, their salaries heavily burden Lyon's budget, which is a reason to consider selling them.

Grosso already revealed that Lacazette is struggling in training, and the fact that he was not selected against Stade Rennes and was even substituted at halftime against Lille is not a good sign for the striker. 'I hope I don't lose him, no,' Grosso said last weekend. 'I'm trying to make choices that will make us play better. He is a player who has qualities and has shown that during his career, but at halftime, I chose to let other players play. They did well and we got chances, we just didn't finish them.' Tolisso's continued stay at Lyon is also not certain.

Lyon will play away at RC Lens, which is sixth in Ligue 1, next Saturday.
