Ten Hag recommends Rashford to look at McTominay and Maguire

These are not the weeks of Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United forward was only a substitute against Chelsea midweek. In the buildup to the home match against Bournemouth, manager Erik ten Hag commented on Rashford's situation.

Rashford strung together goals last season, but in recent months, things haven't been going smoothly.

The English international has only scored two goals in fourteen Premier League matches. Rashford started on the bench against Chelsea. Will he face the same fate against Bournemouth on Saturday? Ten Hag kept his cards close to his chest during the press conference.

'Rashford is a fantastic player. You need more than eleven players, and not everyone can start every game,' said Ten Hag. The newly crowned Manager of the Month acknowledged that Rashford is not in top form. However, that doesn't mean he has lost confidence in Rashford. 'He's not in the form of last season, but I'm sure he will come back.'

McTominay and Maguire

It is still unclear whether Rashford will be in the starting lineup at Old Trafford. What is needed for that? 'I told him he needs to do the same as Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire. It's up to the players. Every week, I assess everyone's performance in training, and the best players form the best team. They will play.'

One player who will definitely not play is Victor Lindelöf. The Swedish defender has been deemed unfit for the match. Raphaël Varane returns to the match squad. The veteran did not play in the last three league matches.
