Flekken has been linked with a transfer to Brentford for some time now. The Dutch goalkeeper is said to have successfully undergone a medical examination and signed a multi-year contract. At Brentford, Flekken will be the successor to David Raya, who is likely to leave the club this summer.

Mark Flekken is set to continue his career in the Premier League. According to Fabrizio Romano, Brentford is acquiring the 29-year-old Dutch goalkeeper from SC Freiburg for a reported fee of thirteen million euros. It is only a matter of time before the deal is announced publicly.

Whereas Flekken was a relatively unknown goalkeeper a few years ago, he has now become a well-known name in the Dutch football world. The four-time Dutch international, who can rightfully be considered a late bloomer, will be playing outside of Germany for the first time next season. Previously, he has played for Alemannia Aachen, Greuther Fürth, and MSV Duisburg.
