Zetterer has had a good season at Werder Bremen. In his first season after leaving Zwolle, he was promoted to the Bundesliga, found himself on the bench in his second season, but last season he was the first-choice goalkeeper.

With a save percentage of 71.5%, second only to Bayer Leverkusen's Lukas Hradecky (76.5%), he had one of the highest save percentages in the entire Bundesliga.

This has also caught the attention of Manchester City's scouts. The club is preparing for the possible departure of second goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, and according to BILD, Guardiola has chosen Zetterer. The German outlet also reports that the 28-year-old goalkeeper has a release clause in his contract. Zetterer is under contract with Bremen until mid-2027.

Zetterer broke into professional football with Unterhaching and moved to Werder Bremen in 2015. He was loaned out twice by the club: one season to Austria Klagenfurt and one and a half seasons to PEC Zwolle. In total, Zetterer played 34 matches for PEC's first team.

Zetterer's journey has been marked by resilience and adaptability. His time at PEC Zwolle was particularly significant, as it provided him with the experience and confidence needed to excel at a higher level. At Austria Klagenfurt, he honed his skills further, demonstrating his capability in different leagues and environments.

Returning to Werder Bremen, Zetterer faced stiff competition but managed to secure the starting position last season, showcasing his talent and earning recognition across the league. His impressive performance metrics, including his save percentage, highlight his abilities and potential, making him a valuable asset for any top-tier team.

Manchester City's interest in Zetterer underscores his growing reputation in European football. If the transfer goes through, it would be a significant step in his career, providing him with the opportunity to work under one of the most renowned managers in the world and to compete at the highest levels of club football.
