Joshua Brenet wants to leave FC Twente after this season and make one more significant move. In the winter, the right-back attracted interest from Fulham, and he is open to joining a club of that caliber.
Brenet has been performing well at Twente and has played a significant role in the team with seven goals scored. When asked by Voetbal International if this is his best season of his career, the right-back responded, "If you look at the footballing aspect, I think it could have been even better. But if you look at my statistics, absolutely." However, he acknowledges that he had a better footballing experience at another club. "During my time at PSV, I became a champion three times. You play in a team with an even higher level, which pushes you to perform at that level. So, if you ask me where I had my best footballing years, it would be those seasons at PSV."
Brenet's contract with Twente still has one more year remaining, and this summer seems like the right time for him to take another step up. "I'm really curious to see where my ceiling is. I had great years at PSV, followed by a less successful stint in Germany. At Twente, I've found my flow again, and now I'm really curious about my true level. Fulham showed serious interest in me last winter. I'm not saying that I can handle Premier League football easily, but I would like to try playing for a club of a similar level. I'm ambitious."
Trainer Ron Jans understands Brenet's ambitions. "We've been fortunate to have Joshua play for us this season because last summer, he decided to build an even stronger foundation towards a good transfer. I'm curious to see where he ends up and how he performs at a potentially higher level. He'll have to improve certain aspects, especially in defense."
