“As soon as I knew I could play for Manchester United, I had to seize the opportunity and sign for the club of my dreams the team whose shirt I wore growing up,” Bryan Mbeumo said in his first official words as a United player, speaking through the club's media channels.

The 24-year-old Cameroonian, who completed his high-profile move from Brentford for a fee reported to be 82 million euros, has already begun to capture the imagination of United fans around the world.

For Mbeumo, joining Manchester United is not just another step in his career it is the realisation of a personal ambition that has existed since his earliest days in football. Growing up in Avallon, France, Mbeumo idolised the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, legends who defined an era at Old Trafford. Wearing the red shirt was always a distant dream, but now it has become his reality. "This isn’t just a transfer; it’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was a child," he said. "Now I have the responsibility to make my mark and contribute to the club’s ambitions."

Mbeumo is coming off the back of a sensational season with Brentford, where he netted 20 Premier League goals and provided several assists, making him one of the standout performers in England's top flight. His pace, technical skill, and sharp eye for goal turned him into one of the most sought-after forwards this summer. United acted decisively to beat competition from several European giants, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, who had both expressed interest in the versatile attacker.

“My mentality is always to be better than I was yesterday,” Mbeumo continued. “That’s how I’ve developed throughout my career, from my days at Troyes, to establishing myself in the Premier League with Brentford, and now arriving here at United. I know that playing under a manager like Rúben Amorim is going to help me grow even more. His philosophy and the way he develops players really stood out to me. I’m excited to learn from him every day on the training ground.”

United fans are equally excited about the prospect of seeing Mbeumo link up with the club’s other attacking talents, including Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Marcus Rashford. His versatility allows him to play across the front line, though he has often excelled on the right wing, cutting inside onto his stronger left foot. His arrival is expected to bring a new dynamic to United’s attack, which at times lacked consistency last season.

Mbeumo also praised the project being built at Old Trafford under Amorim and the club's new sporting direction. “Everyone I spoke to told me about the atmosphere being created here and how ambitious the plans for the future are. The club is building something special, both on and off the pitch. There is a hunger to win again, to restore Manchester United to where it belongs at the top of English and European football.”

He also took a moment to address the supporters directly. “This is a massive club, with a fantastic stadium and amazing fans. I’ve played at Old Trafford before with Brentford, and the energy from the crowd is unlike anything else. Now I’ll have them on my side, and I can’t wait to experience that every week. Together, we’re all determined to compete for the biggest trophies the Premier League, the Champions League and bring them back to Manchester.”

Mbeumo’s signing is not only a statement of intent from United but also a clear message that the club is ready to invest in proven Premier League talent to accelerate their rebuild. His arrival coincides with a renewed focus on smart recruitment, as the Red Devils aim to close the gap to Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the table.

Mbeumo is expected to join his new teammates immediately for pre-season preparations, where fans will likely get a first glimpse of how Amorim plans to integrate the winger into his tactical setup. With the Premier League season fast approaching, expectations are already high that Mbeumo will play a key role in what could be a defining season for the club’s new era.
