Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's coach, assured this Friday that the Gunners continue to believe they can become English champions, despite needing Manchester City to slip up on the final matchday of the Premier League at home against West Ham (Sunday at 4:00 PM), while his team must win against Everton.

“It is very difficult to beat any opponent in the Premier League, especially when there is something at stake, but that is out of our control. They [Manchester City] are a bit closer than us, but they will face a very tough opponent and I am sure that [West Ham] will put up a fight and might help us achieve our dream,” he emphasized in a press conference.

“Will I have someone keeping track of the City result? There will be 60,000 fans, staff, and assistants on their phones, so I think that will be enough! It will be something different, but we just have to stay focused on what we need to do,” he added.

In this regard, the Spanish coach mentioned that his preparation for the game will be the same as the rest of the season, emphasizing that the only focus for the Londoners should be their own game and not that of their rival.

“The only thing we discussed was giving ourselves the possibility of experiencing a beautiful day. The dream is still alive because this is football, and we have to play as we have every week and understand that for dreams to come true, we have to win and hope that West Ham helps us. Regardless of what happens, it will be an emotional day,” he stated.

“There is hope around the club. It will be the last day of the season, and we are playing for the Premier League title, which has not yet come to the Emirates Stadium despite it being open for more than 20 years. So yes, we are very optimistic. We have to do our job and then see what happens,” he concluded.

Heading into the final matchday of the Premier League, Manchester City leads the standings with 88 points, two more than Arsenal (second, with 86). Closing out the podium is Liverpool (third, with 79), followed by Aston Villa (fourth, with 68), with all having already secured a spot in the next Champions League.
