Prefer Juventus over Saudi Arabia: 'I have enough money'

Wojciech Szczesny has no intention of leaving Juventus this summer. Even a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia wouldn't change the Polish goalkeeper's mind.

Despite having two more years left on his contract, Szczesny is linked with a departure from Turin this summer. However, the 33-year-old goalkeeper still envisions his future with Juventus, despite the club's financial and sporting challenges. "I am and will remain a player of Juventus, unless they no longer want me here. I feel connected to this club, and they want me to continue defending Juventus' goal," he told TVP.

Even a multimillion-dollar contract in Saudi Arabia wouldn't change that. "I have enough money in my life," Szczesny made clear to the Polish TV station about his motivations. "I'd prefer a good challenge. Defending Juventus' goal is the most beautiful challenge I can wish for myself. I understand that other people might make a different decision, and it might seem logical, but I think there are more important things than money."

Italian media speculated that Szczesny might leave Juventus after missing out on Champions League football. Furthermore, the beleaguered Italian giant was also excluded from the Conference League by UEFA. Szczesny accepts the situation. "I can't change it anyway. It is what it is. Now we have more time to train, and for the first time in my career, I have some rest. It's not the end of the world for me."
