"The foundations of the club are very fragile. The past 48 hours have shown me that. It's within the club, but also outside of it," said the Spurs manager, who seemed to be pointing to a general lack of winning mentality in and around the club. "I'm not going to go further into it here. These are just my observations, mate. I'll keep them to myself. I have to deal with it. We need to go back to the drawing board now."
Postecoglou continued, "You can figure out for yourselves what has happened. But maybe I'm wrong when it comes to creating a successful team. If you really want to win these kinds of matches, you have to strike at crucial moments. It's also crucial to always play with discipline; that's where we've often gone wrong this season." Postecoglou is not the first Spurs manager to criticize the mentality in London. His predecessors Antonio Conte and José Mourinho also did so.

The fact that some Tottenham supporters cheered when City scored, because it would knock rival Arsenal off the top spot, doesn't concern the irked manager. "That really doesn't interest me at all. I'm here to win matches with Spurs. I can't tell the fans how to behave; that's up to them," concluded Postecoglou. He also had a verbal altercation with a Tottenham supporter behind the club's bench during the match.
