In the winter transfer window, PSV rejected a significant offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Johan Bakayoko. However, now the highly talented twenty-year-old player has caught the attention of many more top clubs from different leagues. The Italian champions Napoli are also considering Bakayoko.
During the last season's winter break, PSG was willing to pay fifteen million euros, including bonuses, for Bakayoko. However, the top club from Paris received a firm 'no' from PSV. Nonetheless, it is expected that PSG will make another approach to Eindhoven.
After his first season at the highest level – where Bakayoko scored five goals and provided five assists – the list of major clubs following the Belgian player with Ivorian roots has only grown larger. This is especially true now that the winger has secured a spot in the Belgian national team.
Napoli could very well be the next club to express interest in Bakayoko, especially if Hirving Lozano departs. Sources confirm the Italian champions' interest in the forward. Most likely, they will receive the same response from PSV's management as they did earlier in the transfer window: 'Johan is not for sale right now.' Only offers exceeding thirty million euros seem likely to open discussions with PSV about his departure.
Bakayoko's management previously confirmed to VI that a transfer for the player is currently not in line with their expectations. Bakayoko himself stated this week in an interview with VI that he feels content at PSV. He aims to become an undisputed starter in Eindhoven and continue his development under the guidance of the new coach, Peter Bosz.
